Understanding The Well Tarot Card: A Beginners Basic meanings !

Okay, so I’ve been messing around with Tarot cards lately, and “The Well” card has really been sticking with me. I wanted to really understand it, not just memorize some keywords, you know? So here’s how I went about digging into its meaning.

Getting Started

First, I just pulled the card a bunch of times. Like, I’d shuffle my deck, ask a simple question like, “What’s the vibe for today?” and see if The Well popped up. I did this for a few days, just to see if it showed up naturally.

Observing the Card

Then, I really looked at the card. I mean, really looked. I noticed the deep, dark well, the water at the bottom, and the bucket. I spent some time just letting my eyes wander over the image, seeing what details jumped out at me.

Journaling My Thoughts

Next, I grabbed my journal. Every time I pulled The Well, or even just thought about it, I jotted down whatever came to mind. Stuff like:

  • Feelings: Did I feel hopeful? Scared? Calm?
  • Thoughts: What did the well remind me of? My own emotions? Past experiences?
  • Questions: What am I drawing from? What resources do I have?
  • Symbolism that pop up in mind: What does the picture mean to me?

I didn’t worry about making it sound fancy, I just wrote whatever popped into my head. It was kinda messy, but it helped me see patterns.

Putting it All Together

After a while, I started to see some common threads. For me, The Well kept coming back to the idea of inner resources. Like, I have this deep well of strength and wisdom inside me, even if I can’t always see it. Sometimes I need to put in the work to draw it out, like lowering the bucket and pulling it back * Well also related to my drawing my own strength and wisdom from deep inside my past.

It’s not a quick process, figuring out a card’s meaning. But by doing this, by really spending time with The Well, I feel like I have a much better understanding of it. It’s not just some abstract concept anymore, it’s something I can actually relate to my own life.
