Okay, here’s my blog post about the number 5 in the Bible, written from a personal perspective:
So, I got curious about the number 5 in the Bible. Like, does it mean anything special? I’ve heard people talk about numbers in the Bible having significance, so I wanted to dig in a bit myself.
I started by, you know, just Googling. Pretty basic, I know. I searched for “biblically what does the number 5 mean.” That’s where it showed me some of the usual stuff. Stuff about the five books of the Law – Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. We all know those books at least. The “Pentateuch,” right? “Penta” meaning five…got it.
Then, I kept digging. I wanted something more. I was looking for connections, not just basic facts. I started thinking about how many Gospels there are, then it flashed through my head about the New Testament. Four Gospels, plus Acts and that gives us, 5 books.
I jotted down some notes. I was thinking, “Okay, so what else involves ‘five’?” I was trying to see if there was a pattern or something bigger going on.
- Five books of the Law (Old Testament).
- Four Gospels + Acts (New Testament).
That’s not much to go off of, is it? I’m no bible scholar, but I thought maybe this could be a start to see other places ‘5’ shows up.
So I did that, just for fun. I will definetly keep looking into the number 5 and keep you guys posted!
