Okay, so I’ve been wanting to get into tarot for a while, and I finally took the plunge. I ordered this deck online called “Beautiful Tarot” – I know, super original name, right? – and I’ve been messing around with it all day. I’m gonna walk you through what I did.
Getting Started
First, I unboxed the deck. The cards felt really nice, smooth and sturdy. The artwork is, well, beautiful, just like the name says. It’s all dreamy landscapes and, like, ethereal figures. Very Instagrammable, haha.
The Learning Curve
I don’t know anything about tarot, so I googled “beginner tarot spreads.” I found a bunch of sites and picked one that seemed easy enough – a simple three-card spread for “past, present, future.”
- Card 1: Past influences
- Card 2: Present situation
- Card 3: Potential future
My First Reading (For Myself)
I shuffled the cards, trying to, you know, “infuse them with my energy” or whatever. I’m not sure if I did that right, but it felt kind of cool. Then I laid out the three cards face down.
Then,I flipped the first card,I am not sure my feeling, just like my pasted things, that is very close to my real situation.
After that,I flipped the second card,I felt very excited.
Finally,I flipped the last one card,oh,I can not tell you guys my real feeling, surprise, maybe.
Trying a Reading for My Friend
My friend Sarah came over later, and I offered to do a reading for her. She was skeptical but game. We did the same three-card spread. I tried to interpret the cards based on the little booklet that came with the deck and what I’d read online. I’m pretty sure I butchered it, but Sarah said it was “interestingly vague” – which I’m taking as a compliment!
My First Impressions of Beautiful Tarot
Overall, I’m having fun! It’s more complicated than I thought, but also kind of addictive. I spent a good chunk of the afternoon just looking at the cards and trying to figure out what they all mean. The “Beautiful Tarot” deck is definitely living up to its name – the art is gorgeous, and it makes the whole experience feel, I don’t know, a little bit magical? I still have tons to learn, but I’m excited to keep practicing!
