Okay, so I’ve been meaning to get into tarot for a while now, and I finally took the plunge. I’ve always been drawn to crows – they’re just so mysterious and intelligent-looking, you know? So when I saw the Crow Tarot deck, I knew I had to have it. I ordered it online, and it arrived pretty quickly.
First thing I did was just look at all the cards. The artwork is amazing – really captures that dark, mystical vibe I was going for. Every card has a crow on it, obviously, but they’re all doing different things, in different settings. It’s really cool to see how the artist interpreted the traditional tarot meanings through the lens of these birds.
Getting Familiar with the Cards
After I’d admired the art for a good while, I decided it was time to actually, you know, learn the cards. I’m a total newbie, so I’m starting with the basics. I found a guidebook online that goes with the deck, and I’ve been reading through that. It explains each card’s meaning, both upright and reversed.
- Major Arcana: I started with the major arcana cards, trying to memorize the main meanings.
- Minor Arcana: Then moved on to the suits, and the court cards which are little hard to remember.
It’s a lot to take in! I’m not gonna lie, it’s kind of overwhelming. But I’m taking it slow, just focusing on a few cards each day. I try to really connect with the imagery, imagine what the crow is doing, and how that relates to the card’s meaning.
My First Reading (Sort Of)
I haven’t done a full reading yet, but I did try a simple one-card draw. Just to get a feel for it, you know? I shuffled the deck, really concentrated on my question, and then pulled a card. I got the “Five of Swords” which mean the conflict, tension.I am not sure what to do with this but the guidebook said “winning at all costs.”
I’m still figuring out what it all means, and how to actually use the cards for guidance. But it’s been a really fun process so far. It’s like learning a new language, but with pictures instead of words. I’m excited to keep practicing and see where this whole tarot thing takes me!
