Deviant Moon Tarot Card Meanings: A Simple Guide for Beginners.

Okay, so I’ve been getting really into tarot cards lately. And not just any deck – the Deviant Moon Tarot. This deck is… intense. The artwork is super unique, kind of surreal and spooky, and I was totally drawn to it. But man, figuring out what all the cards mean? That’s a whole other thing.

So I started, you know, like you do. Googling around. Found some basic meanings, but nothing really clicked. It felt… surface level. I wanted to understand these cards, not just memorize keywords.

Digging Deeper (and Getting My Hands Dirty)

First, I spent time just looking at the cards. Like, really looking. I picked one card each day, and sat with it. Noticed the colors, the expressions on the faces (if there were faces!), the little details. I wrote down my initial impressions in a notebook. Just free-flowing thoughts, whatever popped into my head.

Then I started to compare my notes to some of the online resources. Some stuff lined up, some stuff didn’t. I found some helpful websites and blogs and start to see the cards in a new light. The Deviant Moon Tarot is known for revealing the deeper, often darker, aspects of our subconscious mind. The imagery is very symbolic.

And my notes look like this:

  • The Fool: My notes: “Unburdened, carefree, new journey… maybe a little too carefree?” The meaning: “New beginnings, innocence, taking a leap of faith… but also potential recklessness.” Okay, I was pretty close!
  • The Magician: My notes: “Powerful, focused, a little creepy… like he’s hiding something.” The meaning: “Manifestation, resourcefulness, power… but also manipulation and trickery.” Yeah, that creepy vibe was spot on.
  • The High Priestess: My notes:”Mysterious, intuition, hidden secrets, looks calm but I think she has a storm inside”. The meaning: “Intuition, subconscious knowledge, mystery… pay attention to your inner voice.” I think I’m getting it.
  • The Empress: My notes: “Abundant, nurturing, fertile… almost overwhelmingly so.” The meaning: “Motherhood, fertility, abundance, nurturing… connect with nature and your feminine energy.” Makes sense.

I kept doing this, day after day. One card, my impressions, comparing to resources, seeing how it all fit together. The more I practiced, the more I felt like I was actually connecting with the cards, not just memorizing stuff. It’s still a work in progress, of course. But it’s become this really cool, almost meditative practice. And, you know, it’s kinda fun to freak people out with my surprisingly accurate readings now. Just kidding (mostly!).
