Alright, let’s talk about this… this Connolly Tarot, yeah? I ain’t no scholar or nothin’, but I seen a thing or two, and these cards, well, they’re somethin’ else.

First off, they’re pretty. Real pretty. Like them stained-glass windows in the church, all bright and shiny. Not like them scary old decks some folks use, all dark and gloomy. These ones, they got a kinder feel to ’em, ya know? Like they ain’t gonna jump out and bite ya.
Now, I heard tell they got a bit of that Christian stuff in ’em. Which ain’t a bad thing, mind you. Just sayin’. And they say the woman who made ’em, she made some of them scary cards a bit less scary. Which is good, ’cause who needs more scary in their life, right?
What are these cards good for, you ask? Well, they say they can tell ya things. About your future, about your life. Like, will you find that lost sock or will your hens lay more eggs next week. Stuff like that. But I ain’t so sure about that. Sometimes they’re right, sometimes they’re wrong, just like the weather.
- Some folks say them cards are right most of the time. Like, 60, 70, maybe even 80 percent of the time.
- But it all depends on who’s readin’ ’em. If they know what they’re doin’, if they really feel them cards, then maybe they can tell ya somethin’.
- And it also depends on the reader’s mood, I reckon. If they’re all grumpy and out of sorts, well, then the cards might not be so clear. Gotta be calm and neutral, like when you’re churnin’ butter – steady and even.
I heard some smart fella, a doctor of the mind or somethin’, he said them cards are just pictures of what’s inside us. All them feelings and hopes and fears we all got. Like, courage, ya know? And wanting things real bad. And bein’ stubborn as a mule. It all shows up in them cards, they say.
And wouldn’t you know it, there’s a whole bunch of different kinds of these cards out there. Thousands, they say! Can you believe it? More cards than there are chickens in the coop!

Now, there’s this one card, called the Fool. Folks say it’s the most powerful of the bunch. Can ya imagine that? A fool bein’ powerful. But it makes sense, I guess. ‘Cause the Fool, he’s at the start of everything. Like that first step you take on a long journey. You gotta be a bit of a fool to start somethin’ new, ain’t ya?
This woman who made these Connolly cards, she also wrote some books about ’em. For beginners, they say. So, if you’re new to all this card stuff, maybe them books would be a good place to start. I ain’t read ’em myself, mind you. I got enough on my plate just tryin’ to figure out why the rooster keeps crowin’ at the crack of dawn.
So, that’s the Connolly Tarot in a nutshell, as best as I can tell ya. Pretty pictures, kinder feel, and maybe, just maybe, they can tell ya a thing or two. But don’t go bettin’ the farm on it, alright? Life’s got a funny way of surprisin’ ya, cards or no cards.
And remember, it’s all just pictures on pieces of cardboard. The real magic, the real power, that’s inside you. Always has been, always will be.
