Okay, so I’ve been seeing this “Tarot Card of the Year” thing popping up all over my socials, and I finally caved and decided to figure out mine for 2024. I’m not gonna lie, I’m a little skeptical, but it seemed like a fun experiment, and hey, who doesn’t want a little extra guidance, right?
Figuring Out the Formula
First things first, I needed to find out how to actually calculate this card. I hit up the internet, and after scrolling through a bunch of websites, I finally landed on a method that seemed pretty straightforward. Basically, you add up the digits of your birth date and the current year, and then keep reducing it until you get a single digit (or a number that corresponds to a Major Arcana card, which goes up to 22).
My Birthday Math
My birthday is July 27th, so here’s how I did my messy math:
- Month: 7 (July is the 7th month)
- Day: 2 + 7 = 9
- Year (2024): 2 + 0 + 2 + 4 = 8
Then, I added those together:
7 + 9 + 8 = 24
Since 24 is more than 22, i had to reduce that number:
2+4=6

Okay, so the number 6 corresponds to The Lovers card in the Tarot * the lovers card has many meanings! It often points to partnerships, choices,harmony and alignment.I took some time to think about the meaning and decided that I should make better choices in my life and work.
Honestly, I’m still processing it all. It’s definitely food for thought, and I’m kind of excited to see how this theme plays out in my life this year. Maybe I’ll keep a little journal and jot down any “Lovers” moments – big decisions, important relationships, times when I feel really connected to my values. Who knows, maybe there’s something to this Tarot thing after all!
