Alright, buckle up, buttercups! Let me walk you through my little tarot experiment with the 2 of Cups.
So, I was feeling kinda blah the other day, right? Relationship stuff swirling around in my brain. You know how it is. Instead of just stewing in my own juices, I thought, “Why not throw some tarot cards and see what shakes out?” I’ve been messing around with tarot for a bit, mostly for fun, but sometimes it hits surprisingly close to home.
I grabbed my trusty Rider-Waite deck – nothing fancy, just the classic. I like the imagery, it’s straightforward. I shuffled the deck, you know, really focusing on what I was hoping to get clarity on: love, connection, the whole shebang. I like to really feel the cards in my hands before I start. I gave it a good shuffle, split the deck into three piles, and then put it all back together.
Then I drew a single card asking for some guidence on my current feelings. And BAM! The 2 of Cups stared back at me. Now, if you’re not familiar, the 2 of Cups is usually a good sign in love readings. It’s all about partnership, harmony, mutual attraction, that kind of vibe. Two people sharing cups, looking all lovey-dovey. The whole scene just felt calm and connected somehow.
Okay, so my first thought was, “Well, that’s nice, but what does it mean for me right now?” Because cards can be all sunshine and rainbows, but applying them to real life is where it gets tricky.
I started thinking about the relationships in my life, not just romantic ones, but friendships too. Was there someone I needed to connect with more deeply? Someone I was maybe taking for granted? Or was there a new connection brewing that I wasn’t fully appreciating?
I decided to do a little “self-reflection” spread, totally made up, by the way. I drew three more cards: one to represent me, one to represent the other person (or people, generally), and one to represent the potential outcome if we nurtured the connection.
- Me: I pulled the Queen of Pentacles. Which I took to mean I needed to be grounded and practical, focused on stability and nurturing the relationship in a real, tangible way.
- The Other Person(s): I got the Knight of Swords. This made me think about someone who might be a bit headstrong, maybe a little impulsive, but ultimately driven and passionate.
- Potential Outcome: The Sun. BOOM! Pure joy, success, happiness! If we could navigate the Knight’s impulsiveness with the Queen’s groundedness, we could create something amazing.
Now, I’m not saying I suddenly had all the answers. Tarot isn’t magic, right? But it did give me a different perspective. It made me realize I needed to be more intentional about connecting with the people I care about, especially those who might have a different approach to relationships than I do.
So, I made a point of reaching out to a friend I hadn’t talked to in a while. Just a simple “Hey, how are you doing?” text. And guess what? We ended up chatting for hours! It was exactly the kind of connection the 2 of Cups suggested – a reminder that even small gestures can strengthen bonds.
The whole experience was a good reminder to pay attention to the relationships in my life and to actively nurture them. And hey, even if the cards are just a fun way to think about things, sometimes a little nudge in the right direction is all you need.
Give it a try sometime! You might be surprised what you discover. Maybe not about the future, but about yourself.
