Okay, so, I wanted to get into tarot reading, right? But I’m a total newbie, don’t know the first thing about it. So the first thing I did was hit up the internet, naturally. I typed in “free tarot guidebook pdf” into the search bar, hoping to find something that could teach me the basics without costing me an arm and a leg.

After sifting through a bunch of results, I found a few promising-looking PDFs. I downloaded them all ’cause, you know, why not? More options, more info. I started skimming through the first one. It was okay, had some general info about the history of tarot and stuff, but not exactly what I was looking for. It was more like a history lesson, and less of a practical guide.
Digging Deeper
Then I moved on to the next PDF. This one was a bit better. It started to actually explain the cards, what they represent, and all that jazz. I learned that there’s a Major Arcana and a Minor Arcana. Sounds complicated, but it’s actually kind of cool. Major Arcana are like the big, important cards, and the Minor Arcana are more about everyday stuff.
- Major Arcana: These cards are like the big shots, representing major life events and themes.
- Minor Arcana: These are more about the day-to-day stuff, like work, relationships, and emotions.
I spent a good chunk of my afternoon just reading about the different cards. The Fool, The Magician, The High Priestess… each one has its own unique meaning and symbolism. It’s like learning a whole new language, but a really cool and mysterious one.
The third PDF I checked out was a workbook. It had all these exercises and prompts to help you practice. I haven’t gotten too deep into it yet, but I did a couple of the exercises. It felt kind of weird, shuffling the cards and trying to interpret them. I definitely felt like a beginner, but it was also exciting.
I tried doing a simple one-card reading for myself. I just closed my eyes, thought about a question I had, and then pulled a card. I got The Sun. According to the guidebook, that’s a really positive card, all about joy, success, and good vibes. I gotta say, it did make me feel a little better about things.

Still a Long Way to Go
I’m still very much at the beginning of this whole tarot thing. There’s so much to learn, so many cards to memorize, and so many different ways to interpret them. But I’m actually having fun with it. It’s like a puzzle, or a mystery, and I’m slowly starting to piece it together.
I’m going to keep practicing with these PDFs and maybe even look for some other resources. I think it would be cool to eventually be able to do readings for other people, but for now, I’m just enjoying the process of learning and exploring this fascinating world of tarot.
