Okay, so today I decided to mess around with tarot cards, specifically focusing on the 3 of Spades. I’ve always been curious about tarot, but never really did anything with it, you know? So, I figured, why not start today?
First, I grabbed my deck – it’s a pretty standard Rider-Waite deck I picked up a while back. I shuffled the cards, just kind of getting a feel for them. I’m no expert, so I wasn’t doing any fancy shuffling, just making sure they were good and mixed.
Getting Started
Then, I laid out three cards face down, not really thinking about a specific question, just letting whatever happen, happen. I flipped over the first card… it was the 3 of Spades. Okay, interesting. It was the card I’d planned to be about, so I continued.
My Interpretation
I went on google and looked at a few different interpretations. I always see the swords piercing a heart, right? It kinda looks sad, and lonely. Also, lots of people use the word, like, “heartbreak” and “grief.” Which, I think, makes sense. Some of them are saying it is about betrayal, and a few others talking about needing to acknowledge pain to move forward.
My takeaway
After reading some materials, I flipped over the next two cards to see if that might change the reading. I won’t bore you with those details, but I think the 3 of spades is pretty straight forward. I don’t think that’s a bad thing, you can only really understand what it’s saying, and take some time to think. It’s not the happiest card, obviously, but maybe it’s a reminder to be mindful.
So, that was my little tarot experiment for the day. Nothing too crazy, but it was fun to actually do something with the cards instead of just thinking about it. Maybe I’ll try another card tomorrow!
