Okay, so I’ve been messing around with Tarot cards for a while now, and I always found myself flipping through books and searching online for different card combinations. It was a real pain, so I thought, “Why not make my own list?” And that’s exactly what I did.
I started by grabbing my favorite Tarot deck and a big notebook. I decided I’d go through each card, one by one, and think about how it interacts with all the other cards.
My Step by Step Method
- First, I laid out all the Major Arcana cards in order. You know, The Fool, The Magician, The High Priestess, and so on.
- Then, I took each Major Arcana card and paired it with every other Major Arcana card. I jotted down keywords and phrases that came to mind for each pairing. For example, The Empress and The Lovers? I wrote down things like “fertile partnership,” “creative abundance,” and “harmonious relationship.”
- After that, I did the same thing with the Minor *, Cups, Swords, Pentacles, with all cards. I did the same as above.
- I made sure to work though it all in one shot, keeping the train of thought rolling the whole time.
It was a long process, I am not gonna lie. It took up most of my weekend, with breaks for coffee and snacks, of course. But by Sunday evening, I had this massive list of combinations and my own interpretations.
The cool thing is, now, when I’m doing a reading and I get a tricky combination, I can just check my notes. It’s so much easier than trying to remember everything or searching online every time. Plus, since these are my interpretations, they feel more personal and relevant to my readings.
It may not perfect, but I am working to refine my notes. I keep adding to it as I learn more and get new insights from my readings. It’s become this living document that grows with my understanding of the cards.
