Okay, so I’ve been seeing these “Japanese Tarot Cards” all over my social media feeds lately. They’re gorgeous, and I’m a sucker for anything with beautiful art. I decided, “Why not? Let’s give this a shot.” So, I started my little adventure into the world of Japanese tarot.
First, I scoured the internet for some options. There are tons of different decks out there! Some stick closer to the traditional Rider-Waite imagery, but with a Japanese aesthetic, while others are completely unique, incorporating Japanese mythology and folklore. It was a little overwhelming, honestly.
- Browsed through online stores – so many choices!
- Checked out a few unboxing videos on social media – helped me get a feel for the cards.
- Read some reviews to see what other people thought.
After a good few hours of browsing, I finally settled on a deck that really spoke to me. It’s called the “Mystical Manga Tarot,”. It features traditional tarot symbolism, with a manga art style, and the colors are super vibrant. I placed my order and waited (not so) patiently.
The Unboxing!
When the package finally arrived, I was like a kid on Christmas morning. I carefully opened it up, and the cards were even more beautiful in person. The card stock feels nice and sturdy, and the artwork is just stunning. I immediately spent some time just looking at each card, admiring the details.
Next, I wanted to get familiar with the cards and their meanings. The deck came with a little guidebook, which was helpful. I also found some resources online that explained the symbolism in more detail. It’s a lot to learn, but I’m taking it slow.
I tried doing a simple three-card spread for myself – past, present, future. It was…interesting. I’m still figuring out how to interpret everything, but it definitely gave me some food for thought. I even jotted down my initial thoughts in a notebook to see how things pan out.
Overall, I’m really enjoying my foray into Japanese tarot cards. It’s a fun way to explore a different culture, appreciate some beautiful art, and maybe even learn a little something about myself along the way. I’m definitely going to keep practicing and see where this takes me!
