Learn Tarot Spread Easily: Simple Steps, Great results, Try it.

Okay, so I’ve been getting into tarot lately, and I wanted to try doing my own spreads. It’s kinda fun, and I thought I’d share how I did my first one.

Getting Started

First, I grabbed my tarot deck. It’s a pretty standard Rider-Waite deck that I picked up online. I also made sure I had a quiet space where I wouldn’t be disturbed. This is important because you need somewhere to concentrate, I guess.

Shuffling and Focusing

Next, I shuffled the cards. While I was shuffling, I tried to clear my mind and focus on what I wanted to ask about. I was having a lot of work stress and I decided ask a question like “What do I need to know about my current work situation?” Seems broad enough, right?

Laying Out the Spread

For my first spread, I decided to go with the classic Celtic Cross. I choose a random tarot spread on Internet. It looked complex, but I found a diagram that I followed online. There are like ten cards in this thing! Here’s a basic breakdown of the positions from what I remembered:

  • Card 1: The Present – What’s happening now.
  • Card 2: The Challenge – What’s blocking you.
  • Card 3: The Past – What past events led to this.
  • Card 4: The Future – What’s likely to happen.
  • Card 5: Above – Your goals or aspirations.
  • Card 6: Below – Subconscious influences.
  • Card 7: Advice – What you should do.
  • Card 8: External Influences – Other people or events.
  • Card 9: Hopes and Fears – What you’re hoping for or afraid of.
  • Card 10: Outcome – The final result.

I carefully laid out each card face down in its position, following the diagram I finded. It took a little while, I messed the cards up and did it again.

Turning Over the Cards

Once all the cards were laid out, I slowly started turning them over one by one. I took my time with each card, looking at the imagery and thinking about how it might relate to my question.

Interpreting the Cards

This was the tricky part. I’ll admit, I had to keep looking up the card meanings online. I mean, there’s a lot to remember! I used the guide that came with the deck, but I also googled a few things to get different perspectives. I tried to relate each card’s meaning to the specific position in the spread and to my overall question.

For example, I got the “Two of Swords” in the “Challenge” position. After a lot of reading, that seemed to indicate I was facing a difficult decision and avoiding making a choice. Which, yeah, felt pretty accurate.

Then, I got “The Sun”, I think it’s pretty good! The Sun is very positive, I don’t have to worry too much about it.

Putting It All Together

After going through all the cards, I tried to see the overall picture. I spent some time just sitting there, looking at the spread and thinking about how it all connected. It wasn’t like a crystal-clear answer, but it did give me some things to think about. It helped me see some patterns and potential outcomes I hadn’t considered before.

My Takeaway

Honestly, the whole process was pretty interesting. It wasn’t like a magic solution, but it was a cool way to reflect on my situation and maybe get some new insights. I’m definitely going to keep practicing and learning more about the different spreads and card meanings. It’s a fun little hobby, and who knows, maybe it’ll actually help me figure some stuff out along the way!
