Okay, so I’ve been messing around with Tarot cards lately, and I quickly realized I needed a way to keep them organized. Just throwing them in a box wasn’t cutting it. So, I decided to make a simple list, you know, to keep track of the order and everything. Here’s how I did it:
First, I grabbed a notebook and a pen. Nothing fancy, just something to jot things down. I could’ve used my phone, but I’m old-school sometimes. Plus, writing it down feels more… real, I guess.
Major Arcana
I started with the Major Arcana, because, well, they’re the “major” ones, right? I made a list like this:
- 0 – The Fool
- I – The Magician
- II – The High Priestess
- III – The Empress
- IV – The Emperor
- V – The Hierophant
- VI – The Lovers
- VII – The Chariot
- VIII – Strength
- IX – The Hermit
- X – Wheel of Fortune
- XI – Justice
- XII – The Hanged Man
- XIII – Death
- XIV – Temperance
- XV – The Devil
- XVI – The Tower
- XVII – The Star
- XVIII – The Moon
- XIX – The Sun
- XX – Judgement
- XXI – The World
See? Pretty straightforward. I used Roman numerals because that’s how they’re usually listed on the cards.
Minor Arcana
Then, I moved on to the Minor Arcana. This part was a bit longer, but still pretty easy. I divided them into the four suits:
- Wands: Ace to Ten, Page, Knight, Queen, King
- Ace of Wands
- Two of Wands
- Three of Wands
- Four of Wands
- Five of Wands
- Six of Wands
- Seven of Wands
- Eight of Wands
- Nine of Wands
- Ten of Wands
- Page of Wands
- Knight of Wands
- Queen of Wands
- King of Wands
- Cups: Same deal, Ace to Ten, then the court cards.
- Ace of Cups
- Two of Cups
- Three of Cups
- Four of Cups
- Five of Cups
- Six of Cups
- Seven of Cups
- Eight of Cups
- Nine of Cups
- Ten of Cups
- Page of Cups
- Knight of Cups
- Queen of Cups
- King of Cups
- Swords: You get the idea.
- Ace of Swords
- Two of Swords
- Three of Swords
- Four of Swords
- Five of Swords
- Six of Swords
- Seven of Swords
- Eight of Swords
- Nine of Swords
- Ten of Swords
- Page of Swords
- Knight of Swords
- Queen of Swords
- King of Swords
- Pentacles: Same as the others.
- Ace of Pentacles
- Two of Pentacles
- Three of Pentacles
- Four of Pentacles
- Five of Pentacles
- Six of Pentacles
- Seven of Pentacles
- Eight of Pentacles
- Nine of Pentacles
- Ten of Pentacles
- Page of Pentacles
- Knight of Pentacles
- Queen of Pentacles
- King of Pentacles
I just wrote down each suit, then listed the cards in order. Ace, Two, Three, all the way to Ten. Then, I added the Page, Knight, Queen, and King. I repeated that for each of the four suits.
And that’s it! Now I have a complete list of all the Tarot cards in order. It’s not rocket science, but it helps me keep everything straight. Now, when I’m doing a reading, I can quickly find the card I’m looking for. Super helpful!
