Okay, so I’ve been messing around with Tarot cards lately, and I wanted to get a better handle on keeping track of my readings. Specifically, I wanted to figure out a good way to log the order of the cards as they came up. It sounds simple, but it actually got me thinking a bit.
My First Try (Kind of Clunky)
At first, I was just jotting things down in a notebook. You know, date, time, the question I was asking, and then the cards in order. Like:
- Date: 2024-05-17
- Question: What’s the vibe for today?
- Cards: The Fool, The Magician, The High Priestess
This worked okay-ish, but flipping back through pages to find old readings was a pain. Plus, it was hard to see any patterns over time. I needed something… more organized.
Getting a Little More Organized
Then I thought, “Hey, I could use a spreadsheet!” So I fired up a new sheet and started making columns.
- Date
- Time
- Question
- Card 1
- Card 2
- Card 3
- …and so on
This was definitely better! I could sort by date, search for specific questions, and it was way easier to see the card order at a glance. I felt pretty smart for a minute there.
My Realization (and Still Figuring It Out)
But here’s the thing. I am still playing around with the best format. I use differnt layouts sometimes. And, I’m starting to realize that recording the order is important, but maybe also how the cards relate to each other in the spread. Like, is one card influencing another? Is there a central card and supporting cards? Stuff like that.
I haven’t totally nailed down the “perfect” system yet. Maybe I need to add some extra columns for notes about the relationships between the cards. Or maybe I need a whole separate section for that. I am still learning!
I used to do one big pull a day and I’d keep track of it that way. Now, though, sometimes I will do several pulls in one day. Keeping it all straight is a trick.
Anyway, that’s my little Tarot order adventure so far. It’s a work in progress, but I’m having fun figuring it out. If anyone has any cool methods for tracking their Tarot readings, I’m all ears!
