Okay, so I’ve been getting into tarot lately, and I wanted to try it out without buying a physical deck yet. I’m calling this little project “French Tarot Online,” just for fun.
First, I googled around for “free online tarot readings.” There were tons of sites, some looking, uh… let’s say less professional than others. Lots of flashing banners and weird fonts. I picked a few that seemed okay, not too spammy, and bookmarked them. I wanted something simple to start.
Trying Out the Sites
I started with a basic three-card spread – you know, past, present, future. The first site I tried had a nice, clean layout. I clicked on the “draw cards” button, and it showed me three cards with some interpretations. It was pretty general, but kinda fun. I jotted down the cards and the basic meaning in my notebook, just to keep track.
Then I moved on to the next site. This one was a little more… involved. It asked me to type in my question, which I did (something simple like, “What’s the vibe for today?”). It then prompted me to “shuffle” the virtual deck by clicking a button a bunch of times. It felt a little silly, but I went along with it. This site gave me more detailed readings, but it also had more ads, which was annoying.
- Site 1: Simple, quick, but generic.
- Site 2: More detailed, but more ads and a bit clunky.
I tried a third site, and it was somewhere in the middle. It let me choose different spreads, which was cool. I experimented with a Celtic Cross spread, even though I didn’t really understand all the positions. It gave me a lot of information, some of which was contradictory. I copied and pasted the reading into a document, figuring I’d try to make sense of it later.
My Impressions
Honestly, it was a mixed bag. Some of the readings resonated, some felt totally off. It’s hard to know if it’s just random chance or if there’s something more to it. The experience definitely made me want a physical deck so I can get a more, well, tactile sense.
It feels more authentic that way, I think.
For now, I’ve got a document full of readings and a notebook with some scribbled notes. My next step is to research more about the different card meanings and spreads. And maybe, just maybe, order that tarot deck I’ve been eyeing. It’s all a learning process, right?
