Okay, so, I’ve been having these crazy dreams lately, right? And a lot of them involve roller coasters. Not like, every night, but enough that it got me thinking, “What’s up with that?” So I started digging around, trying to figure out what these dreams might mean.
First, I wrote down everything I could remember about the dreams. What the roller coaster looked like, how I felt on it, who I was with, you know, all the details. Then I hit up the internet – gotta love Google – and started searching for “roller coaster dream meaning”.
I found a bunch of stuff, some of it kinda out there, but some of it actually made sense. Like, a lot of sites talked about how roller coasters in dreams can represent the ups and downs in your life. Makes sense, right? Life can be a real roller coaster sometimes. One minute you’re up, the next you’re down. Feeling excited one moment, then totally freaked out the next.

So this got me thinking about my waking life. I read the stuff online like this one said, “When your feelings seem out of control, it can be challenging to determine how to cope.” Maybe my dreams were showing me that I’m dealing with my stuff. I have been stressed out from work, and my relationship has been a bit rocky, just like the guy Freud said “hidden psychological meaning of the dream”, it made me feel like I was on a never-ending loop of highs and lows.

Another thing I came across was the idea that dreams can be a way to explore hidden parts of yourself. For example, “Unknown places in dreams often symbolize uncharted aspects of your psyche”. That’s something I could think about. You know, figure out what I really want, what I’m afraid of, all that deep stuff. One of my dreams had me on a wooden coaster that just kept climbing and climbing, but never going down. That one felt like it was about being stuck, not being able to move forward. Or, maybe that I felt out of control.

I tried to pay attention to how I felt in the dreams, too. Like “Dreams about roller coasters typically represent the emotional highs and lows we experience in life. Just as a roller coaster takes us through moments of thrill and fear”. Was I excited? Scared? Nervous? That could give me clues about what’s going on in my real life.

What I’m Doing Now
So now, I’m trying to put the pieces together. I pay more attention to my feelings during the day. I try to figure out what might be triggering those ups and downs. And when I have a roller coaster dream, I try to analyze it a little more. What was happening in the dream? How did it make me feel? What does that tell me about my life?
It’s not like I’ve suddenly figured everything out, but it’s definitely helping me understand myself a little better. Dreams are weird, man, but they might actually be trying to tell us something important. But who knows.
