Okay, so I finally decided to get my hands dirty with RWS Tarot today. You know, I’ve been seeing those cards everywhere and just had to try them out myself.
Getting Started
First things first, I grabbed my deck. It’s a shiny, brand new RWS deck – the classic one, you know? I spent a good few minutes just shuffling the cards, getting a feel for them. It’s kinda weird, but it felt like I was connecting with them, you know? Like, getting to know their energy or whatever. It sounds super woo-woo, I know, but that’s how it felt!
My First Reading
Then, I decided to do a simple three-card spread. Past, present, future. I laid the deck face down, took a deep breath (seriously, I was a little nervous!), and flipped over the top three cards.
- Past: The Chariot. Okay, that kinda made sense. I’ve been feeling like I’m moving forward a lot lately.
- Present: The Lovers. Hmm, interesting. Choices, relationships… definitely something to think about.
- Future: The Star. Whoa, that’s a positive one! Hope, inspiration… I like the sound of that!
Jotting It Down
After that, I grabbed my journal and started writing everything down. What the cards were, what my initial gut reactions were, and what I thought they might mean in my life. I scribbled for a good twenty minutes, just letting all my thoughts flow onto the page.
Reflecting and Reviewing
I even try to look up some of the traditional meanings online, just to see if I was way off base. Turns out, I was pretty close! It’s surprisingly intuitive, you know?
So, yeah, that was my first dive into RWS Tarot. It was actually a lot more fun and insightful than I expected. I’m definitely going to keep practicing and see where this takes me. Maybe I’ll even do readings for my friends! But for now, I’m just going to keep practicing and see what else I can learn.
