Okay, so I’ve been seeing this “13 tarot card” thing pop up all over my socials, and I finally decided to give it a shot. I’m not really a tarot person, per se, but I’m always up for trying something new, you know?
First, I dug out an old tarot deck I had lying around. It was a gift from a friend years ago, and I’d honestly forgotten I even had it. The cards were kinda dusty, but the artwork was still pretty cool.
Getting Started
Next, I looked up some basic info online about the 13-card spread. Apparently, it’s good for getting a general overview of your life, covering different aspects like your past, present, future, hopes, fears, all that jazz. It seemed pretty involved, but I figured, why not?
- I found a quiet spot in my apartment.
- Lit some candles.
- Put on some chill music.
I wanted to set some sort of, like, vibe, you know?
The Shuffle and Deal
Then came the actual shuffling and dealing. I’m not gonna lie, I felt a little silly shuffling these cards, like I was in some kind of movie. But I followed the instructions I found online, shuffling until it “felt right” (whatever that means) and then cutting the deck three times.
I laid out the cards one by one, face down, in the specific pattern I’d found. It was a pretty big spread, taking up most of my coffee table. Thirteen cards is a LOT of cards!
My Card Interpretation
Once all the cards were laid out, I started flipping them over, one at a time. I used the little guidebook that came with the deck, and also some websites I found, to try and figure out what each card meant. Some of them were pretty straightforward, others were super confusing.
Honestly, some of the interpretations resonated with me, and some of them felt like a total stretch. Like, one card was supposed to represent “unexpected change,” and I was like, “Okay, sure, that could mean anything!”
The Overall takeaway
After I’d gone through all 13 cards, I sat back and tried to make sense of the whole thing.
It was definitely an interesting experience. I’m not sure I’m totally sold on tarot, but it was fun to try something different and see what came up. Maybe I’ll try it again sometime, or maybe I’ll just stick to my usual routine. Who knows!
It is fun for a try, and I don’t think it could become my habbit or something.
