The Herbal Tarot Meanings: A Quick Reference Guide for all Cards in the Herbal Tarot.

Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this thing called “The Herbal Tarot.” It’s pretty wild, let me tell you. I heard about it somewhere online – something about mixing herbs and tarot cards. Sounded kinda cool, so I thought, “Why not?”

First thing I did was grab the deck. I found it on some online store, I think it was Amazon – it had all sorts of books and stuff. It wasn’t too expensive, so I just ordered it. When the package finally showed up, I ripped that thing open like a kid on Christmas. Inside, there was this deck of cards, all colorful and with pictures of different plants on them, and a little guidebook.

I started by just flipping through the cards. Each one has a different herb, like, there’s one with chamomile, another with dandelion, and so on. Underneath the picture, there’s a regular tarot card name, like “The Magician” or “The Star.” I didn’t really get it at first, but I figured I’d just roll with it.

The guidebook, though, that’s where things got interesting. It explains what each herb is supposed to be good for, like, which ones are for healing or, you know, other more “magical” stuff. It also connects each herb to the meaning of the tarot card it’s paired with. That part was a bit over my head, but I got the general idea.

Then, I started doing this daily draw thing. Every morning, I’d shuffle the deck, pick a card, and then look up the herb in the book. I’d try to think about how that herb’s properties, like, whether it’s calming or energizing, related to the tarot card’s meaning and what was going on in my life. It was kinda like a weird meditation or something.

I even tried using some of the herbs. Like, one day I pulled a card with lavender, which is supposed to be good for relaxation. The book had some simple instructions, so that night I made some lavender tea, it was super chill, like I was floating on a cloud. I’m not saying it magically solved all my problems, but it was definitely a nice way to unwind.

I kept this up for a few weeks. It became this little ritual I did each day. Sometimes the card I pulled seemed to really hit the nail on the head with what I was feeling or going through. Other times, it felt totally random.

My Realization

  • It’s not just about the magic: At first, I think I was expecting some kind of mystical experience. But really, it felt more like a way to connect with nature and maybe learn a thing or two about plants.
  • It’s a tool for reflection: The tarot part, even though I don’t fully understand it, makes you think. It’s like a prompt for your brain to chew on.
  • Herbs are pretty cool: I never realized how many plants have actual uses, like for teas or whatever. It’s got me wanting to learn more about that whole side of things.

So, yeah, that’s my Herbal Tarot adventure so far. It’s been a trip. I’m still not sure I totally “get” it, but I’m having fun with it. Maybe I’ll keep at it, maybe I won’t. We’ll see. It’s definitely given me something to think about, though, and that’s always a good thing, right?
