What questions improve your tarot cards reading for career? Ask these for clear work advice.

Okay, so I decided to do a tarot reading focused on my career the other day. Things have felt a bit… stuck, you know? Like I’m spinning my wheels but not really getting anywhere exciting. I wasn’t looking for magic answers, just maybe a different way to look at things. I’ve had this deck for years, figured I’d dust it off.

First, I waited until the house was quiet. Needed some peace to actually focus. Cleared off a corner of my table, nothing fancy. Just made some space. I grabbed my trusty old Rider-Waite deck. It’s worn around the edges, feels familiar in my hands.

I spent a good while just shuffling the cards. Didn’t rush it. Tried to keep my mind clear and just focused on my question, something like, “What do I need to understand about my career path right now?” I shuffled and cut the deck a few times, just going by feel.

The Spread I Used

I kept it super simple. Didn’t want to get bogged down in complicated layouts. Just decided on a basic three-card pull:

  • Card 1: What’s the situation now?
  • Card 2: What’s the main challenge or obstacle?
  • Card 3: What’s the advice or potential outcome?

Easy enough, right? Just wanted a quick snapshot.

Pulling the Cards

So, I laid them out, face down. Took a breath and flipped the first one.

Card 1: The Situation Now – Four of Pentacles. Okay, yeah. First thought? Holding on too tight. To my current job? To money? Maybe just being resistant to change, playing it safe. That felt pretty spot-on. I’ve been hesitant to rock the boat lately, even though I’m not totally happy. Definitely felt like a card about stability, but maybe too much stability, like stagnation.

Card 2: The Challenge/Obstacle – Five of Swords. Ugh. Not my favorite card. This one always feels like conflict, loss, maybe a hollow victory. Made me think about recent office politics, perhaps? Or maybe my own attitude, like trying to win arguments but ending up feeling worse off. The challenge seemed to be about conflict, maybe feeling defeated or dealing with unpleasant situations or people. A real downer card, honestly.

Card 3: Advice/Potential Outcome – The Star. And then this came up. Total shift in energy. The Star is all about hope, inspiration, healing, a sense of guidance after a tough time. After the gloom of the Five of Swords, this felt like a huge relief. The advice seemed clear: Keep hope alive. Look towards the future with optimism. Believe that things can get better. It suggests finding inspiration and following that path.

Putting It All Together

Looking at the three cards together – Four of Pentacles (holding on tight), Five of Swords (conflict/loss), and The Star (hope/inspiration) – it painted a picture. It felt like the cards were saying, “Look, you’re clinging to stability (Four of Pentacles) possibly because of past or present conflicts that left you feeling drained (Five of Swords). But the way forward is to look up, find inspiration, and have faith in a better future (The Star).”

It didn’t tell me exactly what job to apply for or anything like that. But it did give me something to think about. Maybe I am holding on too tight out of fear because of some negative experiences. And maybe the key isn’t fighting battles (Five of Swords), but finding something that genuinely inspires me (The Star).

So yeah, that was my little career reading session. Didn’t solve everything overnight, but it definitely gave me a nudge and a bit of perspective. Felt good to connect with myself in that way. Sometimes just laying things out visually helps untangle the thoughts in your head.
