Okay, so I’ve been messing around with tarot cards lately, and I wanted to try something a little different. I decided to make a “yes or no” list to help me get quick answers to some burning questions. Here’s how it went down:
Getting Started
First, I grabbed my trusty tarot deck. I’ve been using this one for a while, and I feel like we’ve got a pretty good connection. I shuffled the cards, really focusing on my intention to get clear “yes” or “no” answers. I didn’t have any specific questions in mind yet, I just wanted to set up the system first.
Making the Lists
Next, I took out a piece of paper and drew a line down the middle. On one side, I wrote “YES” at the top, and on the other, I wrote “NO.” Pretty straightforward, right?
Then, I started pulling cards one by one. I laid each card down, paying close attention to its imagery, and I also checked if it’s upright or reversed. For the “yes” list, I put the upright cards, I chose:
- The Sun
- The Star
- The World
- The Lovers(upright)
- The Chariot(upright)
- Strength (upright)
And for the “no” list, I put these reversed cards:
- The Tower
- The Devil
- Five of Swords
- The Lovers(reversed)
- The Chariot(reversed)
- Strength (reversed)
I kept going until I felt like I had a good mix of cards on each side, I just go with my gut on this, some cards just scream”yes” or “no” to me.
Asking Questions
Now for the fun part! I started thinking of some simple “yes” or “no” questions. Things like, “Will I have a productive day tomorrow?” and “Should I order pizza tonight?” (Important stuff, obviously.)
For each question, I’d shuffle the deck, really concentrating on the question, and then pull a single card. If the card I pulled was on my “yes” list(upright), the answer was yes. If it was on my “no” list(reversed), the answer was no. If it matched nether of the list, I just keep it aside and pull another card, until I got a card from my lists.
The Results
Honestly, it was pretty fun! Some of the answers surprised me, and it definitely made me think a bit more about the questions I was asking. I even used it to decide whether or not to start writing this article.
It’s not like I’m going to base all my life decisions on this list, but it’s a cool way to get a quick check-in with my intuition and maybe see things from a different perspective. I’m definitely going to keep playing around with this and refining my lists. I feel good about it.
