Okay, so I tried out this EVA Tarot card reading thing today, and let me tell you, it was a wild ride. I’ve always been a bit curious about Tarot, but never actually done it, you know? So, I figured, why not combine it with my love for Evangelion?
First, I dug out an old Tarot deck I had lying around. It’s not specifically EVA-themed, just a regular Rider-Waite deck. I guess you could use a specialized deck, but I just went with what I had. The imagery is still pretty powerful, even without giant robots on them.
Then, I spent some time just looking at the cards, getting a feel for them. You know, like, the Fool card, the Magician, all that jazz. I tried to connect them to the EVA characters. Like, I figured Shinji could be the Fool, starting his journey, all naive and stuff. Rei could be the High Priestess, mysterious and intuitive. It’s kind of fun to make those connections, even if it’s just in your head.
Next, I needed a spread. I didn’t want anything too complicated, so I just did a simple three-card spread: Past, Present, Future. Classic, right?
I shuffled the deck, really concentrating on my question. Okay, so I didn’t have a specific question, more like a general “What’s going on in my life?” vibe. I laid out the three cards, face down.
- Past: The Chariot. This one made me think of overcoming obstacles, maybe a past struggle I’d powered through. Kinda like Shinji finally piloting EVA-01.
- Present: The Lovers. Whoa. Choices, relationships, maybe some internal conflict. Gendo and Yui, Shinji and Asuka… or maybe just me and my own confusing feelings.
- Future: The Star. Hope, inspiration, healing. Okay, that’s a good sign! Maybe a brighter future, like the end of the series… or maybe just a good weekend coming up. Who knows?
I spent a good chunk of time just staring at those cards, thinking about what they could mean, how they connected to EVA, and how they might relate to my own life. Honestly, it was surprisingly insightful, even if it’s all just symbolism.
Then, I did some basic writing in my personal diary to record my feelings when I finished the reading.
It’s not like I suddenly have all the answers, but it gave me a new perspective. It’s like the cards, and the EVA connection, helped me tap into my own intuition a little bit more. Definitely going to try this again sometime.
