What important questions can a 7 tarot card reading answer? Explore deep insights for love and career.

Alright, so today I decided to do a 7-card tarot reading for myself. Felt like I needed a bit of clarity on things lately.

First thing, I went and found my favorite deck. It’s a bit worn around the edges, which I actually like. Makes it feel more personal, you know? I sat down at my usual spot, made sure things were quiet, no distractions. Took a few deep breaths just to kind of center myself before I started.

Then, I picked up the deck and just started shuffling. I shuffled them really well, maybe for a good few minutes. While I was doing that, I tried to keep my mind clear, just focusing on the feel of the cards and the vague sense of wanting some guidance. Didn’t have one super specific question, more like a ‘what do I need to know right now?’ vibe.

Once I felt the shuffling was done, I placed the deck face down. I cut the cards into three piles, using my left hand – just a habit I have. Then I stacked them back together in a different order than how I cut them.

Laying Out the Cards

Okay, time for the actual layout. I decided on a simple spread I use often, just pulling seven cards off the top of the reassembled deck. I laid them out in a sort of sequence, left to right.

  • Card 1: The recent past
  • Card 2: The current situation
  • Card 3: Immediate future
  • Card 4: My own influence or approach
  • Card 5: External influences
  • Card 6: Hopes and fears
  • Card 7: The likely outcome

That’s the basic structure I went with today. Makes it easy to follow the flow.

Looking at the Reading

I turned over each card one by one, taking a moment to just look at the image before thinking about its ‘meaning’. The second card, representing my current situation, was the Three of Swords. Oof. Not always the cheeriest card, gotta say. Felt pretty accurate though, reflecting some recent disappointments.

But then, the seventh card, the outcome, was the Ace of Cups. That felt like a breath of fresh air after seeing the Three of Swords. It suggested new emotional beginnings or opportunities, which was really encouraging. It kind of balanced out the tough feelings from the earlier card.

I spent some time looking at how the cards flowed together. How the challenge shown in one card might be addressed or influenced by another. It wasn’t about predicting the exact future, more like getting a snapshot of the energies at play right now and how things might develop based on that.

Finally, I got out my journal. I always try to write down the cards I pulled, their positions, and just a few notes on my initial thoughts or feelings about the reading. It helps me track patterns over time and reflect back later. So, I jotted down the date, the seven cards, and a brief summary of what I took away from it all. Felt like a productive little session. That was my practice for today.
